Human Fertilisation And Embryology Authority

EDM number 1669 in 1993-94, proposed by Peter Thurnham on 26/10/1994.

That this House warmly commends the work of the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority and recognises that since its inception it has come to serve as a model for other countries by virtue of the care, rigour and sensitivity with which it handles the matters which fall under its authority; welcomes its wide-ranging consultation into the ethics and practices of the use of foetal eggs; and calls upon the Government to ensure that recommendations made by the authority are given full and measured consideration and that any subsequent action equally reflects the serious and sensitive nature of the work authorised by the authority.

This motion has been signed by a total of 16 MPs.
