Badger Culling

EDM number 17 in 1993-94, proposed by Elliot Morley on 18/11/1993.

That this House notes that despite a long period of culling badgers there is little evidence that it has any serious impact on containing the spread of bovine tuberculosis; is concerned that there are genuine doubts about badgers actually spreading tuberculosis; notes that the Government is currently consulting various parties on their policy of badger culling; and calls upon the Government to impose an immediate moratorium on the killing of badgers until a full and fair review on the question of badger and bovine tuberculosis has been conducted.
