leave out from 'House' to end and add 'supports the need for pay restraint in the public sector; is concerned that it is not widely understood that the average public sector weekly remuneration is ú321; which sum is greater than the average private sector remuneration of ú316; notes that living standards of public servants have maintained their lead over the private sector whilst having steadily improving pensions and relative job security; and believes that the high cost of public sector pay, pensions and job security increases the difficulty in finding resources for pensioners and other benefit recipients, puts pressure on business through higher taxation and is partly responsible for adding to unemployment.'.
