Peace Tax

That this House welcomes the proposals of Conscience, the peace tax campaign, to allow those who have a conscientious objection to the use of their taxes for military purposes to register their objection, and to divert this portion of their taxes into a non-military fund, to be used for the promotion of international understanding, study of the causes and resolution of conflict, research and development into conversion of industry from military to non-military production, and work to maintain democratic structures and human rights in areas of potential conflict.
