Government Links With Westminster Council

That this House demands that the Government comes clean about its links with Westminster City Council in respect of allocation of funds for housing purposes during the course of the past seven years; believes that the detailed submissions of housing investment programmes during those years by all local authorities would have clearly revealed the extent of houses for sale in the various wards of Westminster City Council; is concerned that every other authority requesting funds for housing purposes would have had to reveal such information to the Department of the Environment; and calls upon the Government to make a full statement in respect of all the requests for funding by Westminster City Council and to open the books during that seven year period so that all the facts are known about the Government's close connection with the discounting house programmes of Westminster City Council and the allocation of taxpayers' money.
