Coarse Fishing Close Season

EDM number 471 in 1993-94, proposed by Gordon Prentice on 27/01/1994.

That this House calls on the National Rivers Authority to heed the views of the East Lancashire Ornithologists' Club and take no action on the proposal to move the coarse fishing close season, which runs from 15th March to 15th June to January/February, on the grounds that the existing close season is the breeding season for resident and migrant birds and it is important for them to suffer as little disturbance as possible.
