Conduct Of The Secretary Of State For Wales

EDM number 484 in 1993-94, proposed by Elfyn Llwyd on 31/01/1994.

That this House notes with grave concern the fact that whereas Mr David Rowe-Beddoe in his application form for consideration for appointment as Chair of the Welsh Development Agency declared his high-level connection with the Conservative Party, the Right honourable Member for Wokingham denied any knowledge of Mr Rowe-Beddoe's connection with the Conservative Party; concludes that either the Right honourable Member for Wokingham had not read the application form, or that in interviews following the appointment he was deliberately evasive on this important matter of fact; and calls for the immediate resignation of the Right honourable Member for Wokingham as Secretary of State for Wales.

This motion has been signed by a total of 21 MPs.
