Train Service From London To West Midlands
EDM number 646 in 1993-94, proposed by Tony Wright on 22/02/1994.
That this House deplores the proposal by British Rail to remove the 11.40 p,m. train from London to the West Midlands from its new timetable; regards this as a major loss of service for the people of the West Midlands; believes that the preceding 10.40 p.m. train is not acceptable as the last service on this important route; further believes that the low usage of the 11.40 p.m. service is directly attributable to its poor quality; notes that the removal of a late night service will also prevent honourable Members from returning to serve their constituents; and calls on British Rail to abandon this proposal and ensure that here is a fast and efficient late night service between London and the West Midlands.
