Redhill Aerodrome
EDM number 712 in 1993-94, proposed by George Gardiner on 01/03/1994.
That this House can see no national aviation interest that would be served by proposals to turn the grass airstrip at Redhill Aerodrome into a modern concrete runway capable of handling planes carrying up to 120 passengers, and to construct a terminal building, a conference hotel complex and a dedicated motorway link to the M23, in view of the close proximity of Gatwick and the near proximity of Heathrow international airports; and is concerned over the congestion and consequent danger that might arise in airspace over Surrey, Sussex and South and South-West London.
