Thalidomide Victims
EDM number 745 in 1993-94, proposed by Peter Robinson on 03/03/1994.
That this House notes that Mrs Kim Morton of Gilnakirk, Belfast, has begun a hunger strike in a bid to win appropriate compensation for thalidomide victims; recognises the grave injustice to more than 400 other victims who were forced to accept paltry compensation payments which were grossly inadequate to pay for a lifetime's disability; believes that Her Majesty's Government should institute a public independent enquiry; and calls upon the Prime Minister to initiate such action so that justice can be attained for thalidomide victims.
This motion has been signed by a total of 54 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
