Kashmir For Kashmiriat

That this House recalls that on 21st February the Speaker made a statement concerning a call made by Kashmir for Kashmiriat, based in India, for a boycott of consumer goods produced by industries located in the constituencies of 16 honourable Members; welcomes her warning that it would be a serious offence against Parliament for those addressed to observe any boycott and that to attempt to intimidate an honourable Member in his or her parliamentary conduct by threats was an undoubted contempt of the House; and notes that Mr K. V. Rajan, Acting Indian High Commissioner in London, in a letter, dated 1st March, to the honourable Member for Bradford West, had no hesitation in dissociating his government from the statement issued by Kashmir for Kashmiriat and agreed to draw the attention of that organisation to the Speaker's statement.
