National Science Week And The Royal Society Of Chemistry
EDM number 879 in 1993-94, proposed by Michael Clark on 16/03/1994.
That this House welcomes National Science Week 1994 as a positive step towards improving the public understanding of science and congratulates The Royal Society of Chemistry for its initiative in organising the first ever nationwide competition designed to find new and imaginative ways to present chemistry to the public which is being launched at the House by the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster on Wednesday 23rd March; notes that the Society's initiative is supported by the Science Museum and by Right honourable and honourable Members on all sides of the House; and hopes that the thousand events taking place throughout National Science Week will strengthen public support for a strong and vigorous science base and recognition of the vital contribution that science continues to make to all areas of national life.
