Conduct Of The Honourable Member For Clwyd North West

That this House notes the comments made in debate on 3rd March by the honourable Member for Clwyd North West, that Gwent County Council pulled off a stunt by giving a job to one John P. Smith, the defeated Labour candidate for Vale of Glamorgan, Official Report, column 1114; regrets that the honourable Member for Clwyd North West has failed to withdraw his comments in spite of a letter he has received from the Chief Executive of Gwent County Council informing him that Mr Smith is not and has never been employed by Gwent County Council; calls upon the honourable Member to withdraw his comments; and believes that his failure to do so brings parliamentary privilege into disrepute.
