Invalidity Benefit And The Graham Case

EDM number 985 in 1993-94, proposed by Joan Walley on 30/03/1994.

That this House expresses concern that women contacting the Benefits Agency hotline for a progress report on the Graham case have been advised that the case could take eight years to be heard and that women who had money taken away on reaching the age of 60 will have a long time to wait to hear the outcome of the case; is aware that many women living on their own already have high household bills, full council tax payments and other household commitments; and calls upon the Government to press for an early decision from the European Court of Justice to restore this blatant discrimination towards women aged 60 and over.

This motion has been signed by a total of 13 MPs.
