TESCO'S PROFITS AND TREATMENT OF ITS WORKERS

EDM number 1022 in 1994-95, proposed by Harry Barnes on 24/04/1995.

That this House notes that the supermarket chain, Tesco, has reported profits on ordinary activity before taxation for the year ended February 1995 of ú595 million, an increase on the previous year of over 10 per cent; further notes that Tesco's management insist that their often low-paid check-out staff use their own pens for company purposes; and urges Tesco to review this mean-minded and penny-pinching practice.

This motion has been signed by a total of 26 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
