Mr Gary Lineker And The Freedom Of The City Of Leicester

That this House welcomes the decision by Leicester City Council to acknowledge the contribution of Gary Lineker, one of football's all time greats, by granting him the freedom of the City of Leicester; considers that his example of exemplary sportsmanship, gentlemanly conduct, respect for his fellow players and his outstanding record in domestic, European, and international competition is a model to current and future generations of footballers in both our professional and amateur ranks; and salutes this son of Leicester for bringing credit on the city and on our national game.
