Equality Through Education
EDM number 129 in 1994-95, proposed by Ieuan Wyn Jones on 24/11/1994.
That this House welcomes the publication of the Wales Equal Opportunities Commission Report, Equality through Education; notes with concern the evidence therein that women in Wales are disadvantaged in a number of important ways in relation to education, training and employment; and calls upon the Welsh Office, the funding councils and educational institutions to respond positively to the Report's calls for a standard mechanism for monitoring and evaluating education and training so that women's positions can be monitored, for appropriate career initiatives, and for a review of the current provision for progression routes and career advice and childcare support for mature women.
This motion has been signed by a total of 12 MPs.
