Hackney Council And The Data Protection Register

That this House notes with satisfaction that the Acting Chief Executive of Hackney Council, Mike Craig, wrote to the Data Protection Registrar, Elizabeth France, on 26th June 1995 calling for an official enquiry into possible breaches of the Data Protection Act 1984 whereby protected information about council employees was passed to immigration officials at the Home Office; and notes that a meeting has been set up to pursue the matter rigorously.
