Olympic Symbol Etc (Protection) Bill (No. 3)

EDM number 1352 in 1994-95, proposed by Nicholas Winterton on 04/07/1995.

That this House notes the spirit of cross-party co-operation which saw the Olympic Symbol etc. (Protection) Bill complete its main stages in this House without division; further notes that the Bill received similar support in another place and again proceeded without division; notes, however, that the sponsors of the bill accepted a number of minor amendments which further improved the bill and that those amendments will now r equire the approval of this House on Friday 14th July; accepts that the measure will be of great benefit of British sport in protecting the Olympic symbol from unauthorised commercial exploitation; recalls that the bill has the backing of the relevant Government Minister, the Opposition Spokesman, and hounourable Members representing the Liberal Democrat and other political parties; and trusts that the fair following wind of goodwill which has assisted its passage to date will continue as it seeks to leap this final hurdle on its way to the statute book.

This motion has been signed by a total of 17 MPs.
