British Coal Allotments

EDM number 1362 in 1994-95, proposed by Harry Barnes on 06/07/1995.

That this House calls upon the Government to clarify its policy on the question of the possible sell off of British Coal allotments in North East Derbyshire, and elsewhere, to private developers and to persuade British Coal to sell the allotments to local councils or allotment societies; and further believes that if such allotments are sold to private developers they might drive out the current tenants by hiking up the rents.

This motion has been signed by a total of 17 MPs.
