Permanent Injury Resulting From Treatment By Radiotherapy After Breast Cancer

That this House notes the hundreds of women whose treatment by radiotherapy after breast cancer has led to injuries; further notes that there is evidence of over two thousand such cases recorded; notes that radiotherapy is a powerful treatment for which informed consent is a necessity; notes that many women complain that informed consent was not given and that patients should be given full available knowledge on the possible outcome of treatments; acknowledges the work of the Radiotherapy Action Group Exposure (RAGE) in investigating, informing and campaigning on this matter; and calls on the Government to consider giving compensation to those affected.
