Saudi Regimes Release Of 75 Year Old Scholar

EDM number 1418 in 1994-95, proposed by George Galloway on 17/07/1995.

That this House celebrates the release from prison by the Royal Dictatorship of Saudi Arabia of the blind, 75 year old Islamic scholar Sheikh Hamud Bin Abdullah Al'Uqla Abh-Sha'bi following the campaign by the CDLR, the democratic opposition in Saudi Arabia, and the worldwide chorus of condemnation, including voices of protest raised in this House; and calls upon the dictators to open the dungeons of the peninsula and release all political prisoners held there.
