Ogoni Death Sentences

EDM number 1546 in 1994-95, proposed by Matthew Taylor on 31/10/1995.

That this House is appalled by the News that the Nigerian environmental and social campaigner Mr Ken Saro-Wiwa and Ogoni colleagues have been condemned to death, with no right of appeal, after what has been internationally condemned as a show trial; and calls on the British Government and Shell to use their influence to get these death sentences withdrawn.
