Causes Of Racist Attacks

EDM number 1569 in 1994-95, proposed by Ken Livingstone on 02/11/1995.

That this House notes that following the attack on an Asian women's community project by the Chair of the Conservative Party in his opening speech to the recent Conservative Party Conference it was reported that as well as funding from Camden Council the project gets substantial funds from the Home Office; further notes that the Camden New Journal has reported that the project was attacked by racist thugs within 24 hours of the attack on the project by the Chair of the Conservative Party; and calls on him to visit the project in order to apologise to the women concerned.
