Treatment Of Foreign Secretary And Of Mr Emmanuel Antia

That this House compares the legal treatment of Mr Emmanuel Antia, a constituent of the honourable Member for Leyton, with that for the Foreign Secretary; notes that for a bus fare underpayment of 40 pence the courts meted out to Mr Antia a punishment exceeding ú150, yet after a court declared that the Foreign Secretary had acted illegally in authorising the spending of ú234 million on the Pergau Dam he walked away from the court without so much as an apology let alone a fine and the taxpayer even paid his legal costs; notes that on a pro rata basis with Mr Antia, the Foreign Secretary owes the taxpayer ú87,750,000,000; and suggests that in the interests of equality under the law that he should pay up.
