Conduct Of The Honourable Member For Angus East And J.m. Barrie (No. 2)

EDM number 221 in 1994-95, proposed by Bill Walker on 08/12/1994.

That this House regrets the remarks by the honourable Member for Angus East in Early Day Motion No. 170 (Conduct of the honourable Member for North Tayside and J. M. Barrie); notes that the honourable Member for North Tayside has been a frequent visitor to Angus District Council Headquarters, where he has had meetings with the Chief Executive and other officials about the problems of constituents; further notes that the letter from British Telecom of 3rd May 1994 to the honourable Member for North Tayside clearly states that the exhibition by Mr Caswell of paintings illustrating J. M. Barrie's story of Peter Pan in the Jubilee Room is to celebrate the 90th anniversary and in recognition of the Kirriemuir connection; regrets that no attempt was made by the honourable Member for Angus East to advise the honourable Member for North Tayside according to parliamentary convention of his interest; and cannot understand why the two attempts by the honourable Member of North Tayside to have the matter discussed were not acted upon, which probably accounts for the failure of British Telecom and the honourable Member for Angus East to advise the honourable Member for North Tayside of the address of Mr Caswell.
