Capping Limit For Birmingham City Council

EDM number 225 in 1994-95, proposed by Richard Burden on 08/12/1994.

That this House notes that 9,000 residents of the Frankley area will be transferred to Birmingham in April 1995 as a result of boundary changes; believes that in his calculation of the capping limit for Birmingham 1995-96, to cover the addition of Frankley, the Secretary of State for the Environment has breached the Government's own formula and that Birmingham will lose ú2.6 million as a result; and calls on the Secretary of State to reinstate this money so that services to local people may be maintained.

This motion has been signed by a total of 23 MPs.
