Football League And Swindon Town Football Club
EDM number 253 in 1994-95, proposed by Nigel Jones on 12/12/1994.
That this House notes the recent decision of the High Court overturning the penalties imposed on Tottenham Hotspur Football Club by the Football League for alleged financial irregularities; recalls that Swindon Town were demoted by the Football League for similar alleged activities after gaining promotion to the then First Division in 1991; believes that there should be equality of justice for each individual and organisation; calls upon the Football League to meet the directors of Swindon Town Football Club to discuss this anomalous situation; and wishes Steve McMahon, the manager of Swindon Town, the players, directors and fans of the club every success in the future.
