Proposed Northern And Yorkshire Regional Health Authority

That this House deplores the unwieldy nature of the proposed Northern and Yorkshire Regional Health Authority which would have a land mass the size of Scotland, and a staff of 135 people charged with overseeing all the hospital services for the communities of these regions; and further regrets that the people of Yorkshire were not consulted on the size and structure of a health administration which will have minimal local links and which will have its headquarters based in Durham.
