Chinese Year Of The Pig

EDM number 555 in 1994-95, proposed by Tony Banks on 06/02/1995.

That this House sends New Year Greetings to London's Chinese community on the occasion of the Year of the Pig; notes that according to Chinese tradition the pig is an animal which is strong and trusting, peace-loving, a good leader and quick to make up an argument; and wonders why, in the face of such exemplary qualities, so many of these admirable creatures are eaten in Chinese restaurants and in bacon sandwiches in the House of Commons.

This motion has been signed by a total of 12 MPs.
