Realignment Of Peseta And Escudo And Emu

EDM number 736 in 1994-95, proposed by Teddy Taylor on 06/03/1995.

That this House, noting the further realignments of the Peseta and Escudo, considers that these events again expose the economic nonsense of a system which is based on a assumption that a substantial number of nations can converge their economies and maintain fixed exchange rates; offers its sympathy to the many millions of unemployed persons in Europe who are suffering from this absurd and illogical policy; and urges Her Majesty's Government to seek to ensure that the basic principles of European Monetary Union be reconsidered at the 1966 Inter-Governmental Conference.

This motion has been signed by a total of 6 MPs.
