That this House is greatly concerned at the continued house arrest and detention without trial of G. M. Syed, the 92 year old Chairman of the World Sindhi Congress and Father of the modern Sindhi nation; notes that he has been declared a prisoner of conscience by Amnesty International and his case was submitted to the Commission of Human Rights at the United Nations earlier this year; further notes that G. M. Syed's health is deteriorating and his eyesight is failing; and calls for Her Majesty's Government to make urgent representations to the Pakistan Government for his immediate release for him to receive medical attention in the United Kingdom or the United States of America.
