South West Water Bills Campaign By Sunday Independent
EDM number 856 in 1994-95, proposed by Paul Tyler on 21/03/1995.
That this House congratulates the initiative of the Sunday Independent newspaper in campaigning for the hard-pressed water charge payer in the South West; and notes that 3 per cent. of the population is having to pay for the clean-up of 30 per cent. of the nation's beaches, and that this is a situation which can only be alleviated by Government action in order to ensure the future of the environment and the holiday industry in the South West, at a price local customers can afford.
This motion has been signed by a total of 17 MPs.
