Conduct Of The New Forest Buckhounds (No. 2)
EDM number 914 in 1994-95, proposed by John Denham on 28/03/1995.
That this House notes with great concern that, on Friday 10th March, Mr John Collins of Ringwood, Hampshire, observed the New Forest Buckhounds chase a herd of deer into fencing near Burley, that he subsequently witnessed a huntsman hold a deer on the ground for five minutes whilst the remainder of the herd were dispersed and that this deer was then released to be pursued again by the hounds; notes further that on the same date a deer was attacked by hounds prior to being killed by members of the New Forest Buckhounds; and believes that this additional evidence of deliberate cruelty for the pleasure of the hunt is further grounds for the immediate and indefinite suspension of the New Forest Buckhounds.
