Execution Of Eleven Men At Mazingarbe

EDM number 922 in 1994-95, proposed by Martin Redmond on 29/03/1995.

That this House calls upon the Prime Minister not to let the 50th anniversary of the end of the Second World War pass without taking action to right the worst episode in the history of the British Army, namely, the putting to death of 312 men by the order of their officers with the approval of their generals, by the cynical misuse of the Army Act and military law, the most uncivilised example being the execution of eleven men in the abattoir at Mazingarbe, an event comparable only to the degradation wreaked by Nazis in the last war.

This motion has been signed by a total of 24 MPs.
