Unleaded Petrol

EDM number 985 in 1994-95, proposed by Jimmy Wray on 18/04/1995.

That this House implores Her Majesty's Government to reconsider its response to the House's Transport Committee and the Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution with respect to unleaded petrol, given the results of a number of studies which have concluded that the use of unleaded petrol has led to an increase in atmospheric pollution and increased levels of cancer, especially leukaemia; and calls upon the Government to restrict the sale of unleaded petrol in vehicles without catalytic converters and to follow the lead of the European Union and review its policy of an excise duty differential favouring the use of unleaded petrol.

This motion has been signed by a total of 13 MPs.
