That this House notes that this financial year's contract settlement reached between the Highland Health Board and Raigmore Hospital Trust, Inverness, leaves the Trust with a ú0.5 million shortfall; further notes that the Trust Chief Executive has indicated that all but the 12 month waiting time guarantees are suspended and that redundancies among permanent staff cannot be ruled out; draws attention to the criticisms of the ongoing efficiency savings made by the Trust Chairman, particularly his warning that if funds continue to be diverted away from the acute sector in this way then Raigmore may have problems coping with a full scale emergency in the future; and calls upon the Scottish Health Minister to honour his pledges over maintaining and improving the level of service to patients generally.
