EDM number 1213 in 1995-96, proposed by Dafydd Wigley on 23/07/1996.

That this House welcomes the 20th Anniversary of the Race Relations Act 1976 and its aims of promoting a society free from racial discrimination on the grounds of a person's colour, ethnic origin, race or nationality; congratulates the Commission for Racial Equality and its Commissioners established under the Act for the work undertaken in the last 20 years in attempting to achieve this laudable aim; and calls on all political parties to campaign for a just society which gives everyone an equal change to learn, work and live free from discrimination and prejudice, and from the fear of racial harrassment and violence.
