Future Of Edgware General Hospital

EDM number 320 in 1995-96, proposed by Hugh Dykes on 22/01/1996.

That this House remains unconvinced by the refusal of the Department of Health to reconsider the unjustified closure of the accident and emergency facilities at Edgware General Hospital; and calls on the Secretary of State for Health to open further discussions with the local district health authority and Community Health Council representatives and other spokesmen and women for local public opinion with a view to deferring the May 1997 closure deadline until an adhoc special inquiry can be held, especially in view of the lack of alternative facilities for the many thousands of local users and patients living in the vicinity.

This motion has been signed by a total of 26 MPs, 2 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
