Beating Crime In Hyndburn

EDM number 501 in 1995-96, proposed by Greg Pope on 26/02/1996.

That this House welcomes the recent reduction in street crime in central Accrington; notes that this follows the introduction of CCTV cameras, the establishment of community safety wardens and the continued vigilance of the police; praises the successful partnership betweeen the Lancashire Constabulary, Lancashire Partnership Against Crime, Labour-conrolled Hyndburn Borough Council, Remploy and many private businesses and voluntary organisations in Hyndburn which has made this possible; commends Superintendent Malcolm Rawcliffe and all other police officers in Hyndburn for their excellent work; and thanks David Brown of Hyndburn Partnership for the work he is doing now and Harry Ballantyne for the work he has done in the past.
