Ninetieth Anniversary Of The Labour Party In Parliament

That this House welcomes the 90th anniversary of the first entry of the Labour Party to the House on 13th February 1906, marking the landslide Tory defeat of January 1906 and initiating a new era of radical political change, bringing Labour representation for the first time to over 50 constituencies, by way of 29 Members of Parliament supported by the Labour Representation Committee, combining the resources and experience of the Trades Union Congress, the Independent Labour Party and the Fabian Society, working with a further 16 miners' union members to transform the social order and to advance the cause of social justice and the rights of working people.
