Judicial Murder In Bahrain

EDM number 667 in 1995-96, proposed by George Galloway on 27/03/1996.

That this House condemns the judicial murder in Bahrain of Issa Ahmad Hassan Qambar, executed by the Bahrain dictatorship of Shaikh 'Issa Bin Salman Al Khalifa following a farcical trial which breaches all international norms for the treatment of an accused person facing the death penalty; considers that this latest act by the Bahrain tyranny further drenches the Bahrain royal family in the blood of its own people; condemns the continued gunning down of peaceful demonstrators by the mercenaries of the Bahrain security services including their Scots-born torturer-in-chief Ian Henderson; and demands that the royal dictatorship in Bahrain be cast from the community of civilised countries until it begins a dialogue with its own people leading to the restoration of the constitution and progress towards democracy in that imprisoned land.
