That this House notes the actions of DHL (UK) in removing within a period of three weeks at a total cost of ú60,000 some 500 bull bars from their corporate fleet of more than 700 vehicles; notes that this was done in pursuit of greater operational safety despite the fact that no DHL vehicle has previously been involved in any accident resulting in injury; believes that the adoption of such a policy by a company operating 40 service stations employing 2,600 staff, moving 31,000 consignments per day weighing in total 140 metric tonnes provides an example for all vehicle owners to emulate either as individual drivers or as fleet operators; and calls upon all concerned motorists to follow their example at the earliest date.
