Sir Donald Walters And Higher Education In Wales

EDM number 829 in 1995-96, proposed by Win Griffiths on 01/05/1996.

That this House welcomes the opposition of Sir Donald Walters, former Tory Party supremo in Wales, to the Government's policies for higher education in Wales, and England, in his capacity as the Chair of the Council of the University of Wales, Cardiff; and calls on him to consider, at the very least, other sectors of education which have also suffered from Government policies over the years and develop the logic of his position by campaigning against the re-election of the Government which, on its record, has every intention of pushing on with its present policies which he believes to be the cause of an impending crisis that will permanently damage the quality and high standing of higher education in Wales.

This motion has been signed by a total of 25 MPs.
