Inheritance Tax

EDM number 166 in 1996-97, proposed by Tom Cox on 11/11/1996.

That this House deplores the deception by the Chancellor who, whilst claiming to aim for a nil inheritance tax, deprives large numbers of any hope of inheriting relatives assets by his Government's closure of long-stay beds and at the same time requiring the long-term ill to pay for care in private nursing homes.
