M25 Widening

EDM number 213 in 1996-97, proposed by Andrew Mackinlay on 19/11/1996.

That this House notes the statement by Local Authorities Against Heathrow Terminal 5 that the Department of Transport's plans to widen the M25 between junctions 12 and 15 and to build a T5 spur road fail to meet 79 of its own design standards; deplores the Department's wish to cram the M25 widening within existing highways boundaries to avoid the need for a public inquiry; and calls on the Secretary of State for Transport to announce his response to the 4,000 objections to the M25 scheme.

This motion has been signed by a total of 13 MPs.
