Sale Of Armoured Vehicles To Indonesia

That this House condemns the decision by Her Majesty's Government to issue export licences for the export to Indonesia of 50 Alvis armoured vehicles, as well as a variety of police vehicles, including seven Tactica water cannon; notes that Her Majesty's Government has admitted that United Kingdom-manufactured armoured vehicles, supplied in the 1960's, were used against students protesting over bus fare increases in South Sulawesi last April and that three students died when the vehicles entered their campus; further notes that previously supplied water cannon have been used against peaceful protesters; believes that it is likely that newly licenced vehicles would be used for human rights abuses; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to revoke the export licences.
