North Of England Museums Service

EDM number 642 in 1996-97, proposed by Chris Mullin on 11/03/1997.

That this House notes the valuable role of the North of England Museums Service in providing specialist advice and training for museums in the region; also notes that, like other area museum councils, it brings together local elected representatives, trustees and members of the museums profession from across the region enabling a sharing of experience in a way that would not otherwise be possible; and hopes that the Government will bear these factors in mind in its current review of the future of areas museums councils.
