leave out from "Cyprus" to end and add 'question on the basis of the political equality of the two peoples of Cyprus; forsees a bright and prosperous future, provided that effective guarantees are in place to ensure that never again will the larger seek to dominate or persecute the smaller and that a confederal structure can be agreed, so permitting both peoples to live secure in their own culture, religion, and geographical area and to cooperate with each other on the basis of mutual respect; further welcomes the new spirit of cooperation between Greece and Turkey, and looks forward to the accession of Cyprus to the EU after a settlement has been reached and provided arrangements can be made which will provide Turkey with the same rights and obligations as Greece with regard to the Cyprus Confederation until such time as Turkey itself joins the EU.'.
