ST GEORGE'S CROSS

EDM number 1487 in 2001-02, proposed by Pete Wishart on 20/06/2002.

That this House welcomes the widespread use of the St. George's Cross during England's World Cup campaign, reflecting a strengthening of English national identity and weakening of Britishness; and calls for the St. George's Cross to be flown above the Palace of Westminster for the duration of the English campaign, however long that may be, in recognition of the team's achievements, and in preparation for the day when Westminster becomes the parliament of an independent England.

This motion has been signed by a total of 3 MPs.
